The Inspiration:
Mr. Jay Sonaji Upase, a well-educated person, born in a middle-class family in Aurangabad District of Maharashtra was deeply hurt by some social incidents happening around like farmer suicide, disruption of families due to poverty and the heart wrenching conditions of their children who became orphans and tender age. Such bitter experiences made him introvert and he decided to do his bit for the society and with that inspiration he started an organisation “Urmi” in 2016.
What we do at Urmi
- We serve as guardian for farmers child who committed suicide
- We serve as guardian for children who parents are prisoners in jail
- We look after the orphans, and children who are especially abled
- We look after the Children who family has been deprived by the society
How does Urmi Function:
We had children of different ages coming to our organization who comes from different sections of society and their needs are different. We do not get any funds for the government. We spend on our own to provide basic facilities at our organization.
Our Aim:
Our Aim is to provide the children with proper boarding facilities, nutritional food, proper clothing, family support, security and training, education, carrier guidance along with personality and skill development programs which will enable them to be responsible citizens of country and will ultimately lead to nation building.
Currently at our organization we have many children that are provided facilities and guidance to get higher education in the field of pharmacy, medicine, engineering, etc and have been awarded at different events like:
- Youth inspirator award (Sakal media group)
- Award for social cause at the hands of known social reformer Sindhutai sapkal
- Nanded Bhushan Puraskar
- Yuwa Purskar at the hands of Mr Purushotam Bhapkar
- Jiyo Dil Se Award at the hands of Hon M.P Mr Kiran Khair ( we were the lone recipient of this award from Maharashtra state)
- Siddhivinayak Puraskar ( Aurangabad)
- Innovative educator society’s award
- Awishkar puraskar (Aurangabad)
